Welcome.

I’m so glad you’re here.

Whether you are exploring therapy for the first time, or hoping to learn new skills to tackle a particular challenge in your life, I know it isn’t easy to ask for help.

No matter what led you to decide to start therapy, I want you to know: I’m here when you’re ready to take that first step.

I’m Tricia (she/her), and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).

I work with clients located in Connecticut and Washington, DC.

I have been a Board Certified Counselor for over a decade. I have a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The George Washington University, as well as a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from the University of Florida.

With a passion for holistic mental health, and a rich, diverse background in clinical work, I've had the privilege of supporting individuals across all stages of life—adults, adolescents, and children. Embracing a person-centered approach to mental health has been at the core of my practice.

My journey as a therapist began well before starting my private practice eight years ago. I've previously worked with groups, couples, and families, and I integrate my knowledge of those dynamics into my current work with individuals.

I understand that people don’t exist in a vacuum, and I draw heavily from my experience of working in the community as a clinician in a variety of settings, including a university counseling center, a community mental health agency, and in schools (public, private, charter, and special education).

In my practice, collaboration is at the heart of everything.

Building a therapeutic relationship with each client is more than a professional duty; it's a commitment grounded in trust, respect, genuine curiosity, and deep empathy. I also really value humor!

I genuinely believe in the transformative power of therapy. Having spent thousands of hours alongside clients, I've witnessed remarkable and lasting changes unfold. Every day, I draw inspiration from the immense bravery and vulnerability displayed by those I have the privilege of working with.

As we navigate the counseling journey together, we'll craft personalized goals that resonate with your unique cultural and personal background. Embracing an integrative approach, I draw from a blend of therapeutic methods and evidence-based practices. In our work, we may explore the profound impact that societal injustices and gender inequities may have on your mental well-being.

My postgraduate training in trauma-based cognitive behavioral therapy underscores my commitment to providing specialized care. Additionally, I incorporate various somatic and body-based techniques, enhancing the benefits of our conversations beyond traditional talk therapy.

My areas of expertise include:

  • Anxiety, Stress, and Depression

  • Self-Esteem Issues

  • Relationship Concerns

I also have extensive experience with these issues:

  • Parenting and Family Issues

  • Grief and Loss

  • Trauma

  • Chronic Illness

  • Career Challenges

  • Life Transitions

As an affirming therapist for the LGBTQ+ community, I'm dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive space for people of all genders, gender expressions, sexual orientations, and identities.

I am deeply committed to the work of antiracism, and it is my ongoing goal to create a safe and validating environment for all clients. I take responsibility as a clinician to actively challenge and oppose the systems and structures that perpetuate racism, including within the mental health field.

I adhere to the Code of Ethics of the American Counseling Association.

If you feel my approach might resonate with you, please send me an email so we can talk more about your goals for counseling.

I’m here to provide the support and understanding you deserve on your journey from surviving to thriving.
